I have been busy making Snowball Blocks for block Two of the BOM 2018. Take a look at my tutorial for my method of making the Snowball Blocks.
I am trilled to have another quilt in the Today's quilter magazine issue 34. The quilt is called Cat's Cradle, it used the cat's cradle block hence the name. Today's Quilter have done an amazing job of the photo shoot for the quilt and I am so glad I can share these gorgeous photos with you.
I hope you are all busy starting block one for the BOM 2018. I can't wait to see your progress. I have my fabrics chosen in very traditional colors for this quilt.
Grandmothers Star Quilt Pattern is the latest pattern for the Small Wonders Quilt Pattern Club. This little quilt is made from a simply cute little block called Grandmothers Choice. A few more simple small blocks and careful colour placement finished off the quilt design.

Today is a good day, I am in my happy place at the sewing machine. My machine is cleaned and oiled, with a new needle and I am ready to go.
Loving the way this fabric fits perfectly with the Nine patch blocks I have been busy making. Love the subtle colours. I think I'll call this quilt 'Vintage Nine Patch'.
Well, I have to confess! I have a hard time writing blog posts, procrastinating about every little detail. Waiting until I have the perfect content for the 'perfect' post.......... do you do this too?
I do have some exciting news on the quilting side of things, I have a new quilt pattern in the next Quilt Mania issue #123. The Quilt is Tavern Reds, it has a mix of applique and piecing.
Joining Applique Binding when there is no flower or leaf to cover the join. I have been asked how I joined the binding for the Town Square block on the Rambling Ways Quilt. As this is quite a long explanation I decided a blog post was the best place to show how I do this.
I started making Roses for a new applique quilt. So far I have the first block completed, with a plan in my mind as to what I want the completed quilt to look like.
This morning I have added the Union Blues Quilt Pattern to the website. I have used the Union Blues fabric line by Barbara Brackman to make this lovely quilt. Although I am sure you can find many gorgeous blue and brown fabrics in your sewing stash to create your version of the Union Blues Quilt.
I had a wonderful time teaching applique at the Christchurch Symposium a few weeks ago. There were over 50 tutors from all over the world, a fabulous event. The symposium is held every two years and the next one will be in Auckland in 2019. I taught three different methods of invisible machine applique.
