Ayla is my beautiful new granddaughter, how wonderful it is to have a new addition to the family. This has inspired me to make a bassinette quilt for her, and since she has definitely stolen my heart. I am making her a heart quilt. Just in time for Valentine's day. Take a look at the sweet quilt for a sweet little baby.

Well, that is my quandary this week, as I sort through all my quilts trying to find places for them in my home. I have come across some favorites that deserve a special place. The quilt I am going to focus on in this post is my Vintage Crosses Quilt. You can find it on the website here this week I have decided to have a 10% discount sale on the pattern. In turn each week I will be doing this for each of my patterns and writing about each quilt.

Now that the holidays are well and truly over, and we have started the year 2020. I am back in my sewing room while the house is peacefully quiet, my process for starting the new year is to finish some of the quilts that did not get finished at the end of 2019. One of the quilts to finish is the Treasures in the scrap bin quilt from the sew along, and as I am working on it I would be like to share my thoughts with you.

Last night I had a wonderful impromptu visit from my lovely friend Anna she brought me the most beautiful bunch of flowers from her amazing garden. Such a special gift, I am truly blessed to have her as my friend. Which made me remember a block inspired by her Roses called Anna's Treasure from my Rambling Ways quilt.

Adding the borders, it always amazes me when the next step is added, how the choices of fabric can change the look of the quilt. This is true for the first inner border, although it is only a small addition it is a game-changer. The applique adds another dimension. Read more about the borders and techniques............

Today I am going to start making my Shoo Fly blocks for the Treasures from the scrap bin pattern in my book Autumn Bouquet. There are a few things I would like to mention about my thought process. Firstly I do not cut all my fabrics in one go, I cut for each individual block. I have more tips to share here.............
