I do have some exciting news on the quilting side of things, I have a new quilt pattern in the next Quilt Mania issue #123. The Quilt is Tavern Reds, it has a mix of applique and piecing.

This morning I have added the Union Blues Quilt Pattern to the website. I have used the Union Blues fabric line by Barbara Brackman to make this lovely quilt. Although I am sure you can find many gorgeous blue and brown fabrics in your sewing stash to create your version of the Union Blues Quilt.

I had a wonderful time teaching applique at the Christchurch Symposium a few weeks ago. There were over 50 tutors from all over the world, a fabulous event. The symposium is held every two years and the next one will be in Auckland in 2019. I taught three different methods of invisible machine applique.

Playing with thread, fabric and quilting ideas is so much fun. I had no real plan for this design other than trying out new and old techniques to create a vintage look.
