Zig Zag Border

February 17, 2012 2 Comments

Hello Everyone A project I had started a few months ago has stayed on my design wall waiting for its border, I was not satisfied with just a plain old border and wanted to do something special. I had several ideas, but none of them seemed to be the right one. After reading a blog post about zig zag borders on antique quilts, onBarbara Brackmans War and piecing blog. I thought this is perfect for my quilt. I used a lovely fabric with a directional design, and it has come out looking great. I am so happy with the outcome, its well worth a try and directional fabric designs. I find the possibilities endless. Take a look at my pictures:

Sorry about the large picture but I wanted to give you the full effect of this lovely fabric, here is what the fabric looks like before I cut into it. I am sorry that I can not show you the full quilt, as it is destined for a Magazine this year. I will keep you up to date with more information on when this will be coming out. Happy Stitching Sharon

Well done. Who has a clever friend then?

I love your zig-zag border and the stripe fabric used in it. Very clever, now if I can just remember it to use on one of mine!
