The Winterwood quilt is now quilted and the binding sewn down. I am absolutely thrilled with this quilt.I love the texture of the random quilting using beautiful 50 weight Aurifil Thread. I love how the scrappy background fabrics add to the quilt. I loved every minute of working on this quilt, it's funny I am now missing spending time working on it. I will let the quilt speak for itself with all the lovely photos I took this morning. I apologize that there are no full sized pictures yet, the weather is dreadful, wet and cold. So as soon as we get some more sunshine I will take the quilt outside to get a lovely full sized photo.
This first photo is of the latest block added to the pattern BOM on the Pine Valley website, see more details here.
I have so many more photos that I will be sharing on instagram. I hope I have inspired you to take the plunge and make a start on your Winterwood quilt blocks, if you do please share your photos with the Pine Valley Quilt facebook group I would love to see them.
Happy Stitching

Incredibly beautifull!!!
Sharon—this is absolutely stunning—great job! Is this pattern available for sale? I didn’t see it on your website. Thanks!
Beautiful!!!
Its stunning! I so want to do a quilt with lots of appliqué I’m just a little scared. Did you hand appliqué or machine appliqué. Which one do you prefer.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Gorgeous!! Your work is fantastic and I love the colors.
It is gorgeous. Congratulations on a beautiful finish.
It’s just beautiful! Do you have or will you ever do a tutorial on machine quilting? I recently purchased your book on applique and enjoyed it very much. You are a natural teacher.
Absolutely stunning Sharon just love every aspect of it… colour red especially shows it off to the max…
Such expertise work well done xx
How to press a Flying Geese Border ? This is the question I was asked so I have done my best to answer as it is not exactly what you might be expecting to see. Read more to see how I pressed the seams to get nice flat intersections.
Making four Flying Geese units at a time is a great time saver, and a wonderful method. I love to oversize the units and trim them down to the correct size for perfect blocks. Read how I go about making these versatile units that I use in almost every quilt I make.
