Vintage Crosses Quilt Pattern
Vintage Crosses Quilt design was something I had been thinking about for a while, you know how you see something in your mind and then work on making it come to life. I had been thinking about an applique quilt with pieced blocks, I love the little cross block and it was the perfect block for my idea. I wanted loads of fabrics all of the same tone so they all blended together easily. Reproductions are a favorite and most of my fabric collection is repro's, I love the warm, murky, snuggle look they give to a quilt. Making the quilt look like it could have been made a long time ago.
I started by thinking of the layout of the quilt, which is not how it ended up LOL. I was going to do the traditional four applique blocks across and four applique blocks down sashed with the cross blocks. But after making the first four blocks I thought the quilt needed something extra, so I decided to make the center of the quilt a little more interesting with applique. I played with all the applique motifs in the twelve applique blocks designs and came up with my applique center design. ( which I love )
Vintage Crosses will always be a favorite for me, I loved working on it from start to finish.
I have been busy taking photos of my quilts, for the website so wanted to share them with you here. These are the photos I have taken of the Vintage Crosses Quilt I hope you like them.

Lovely!
How to press a Flying Geese Border ? This is the question I was asked so I have done my best to answer as it is not exactly what you might be expecting to see. Read more to see how I pressed the seams to get nice flat intersections.
Making four Flying Geese units at a time is a great time saver, and a wonderful method. I love to oversize the units and trim them down to the correct size for perfect blocks. Read how I go about making these versatile units that I use in almost every quilt I make.
