Free Form Feathers

September 26, 2010 3 Comments

Hello I have finally finished the ditch stitching and onto the fun stuff. I have taken a leap of faith and tried doing free form feathers, even tho I have practiced this on a sample this is the first time I have had enough courage to do it on an actual quilt. ( Thanks to all those great quilters out there who have shared their knowledege. ) I am so pleased with the results. I am on a dealine with this quilt so I must keep at it to get it done by Saturday. Take a look at my progress so far. [caption id="attachment_223" align="alignleft" width="300"] Free Form Feathers[/caption] Happy Quilting Sharon www.pinevalley.co.nz

Wow Sharon
Well done!! It looks fabulous. Cant wait to see it!!
I am writing this in Perugia, Italy on the final leg of the adventure. Tomorrow we head for Rome, and Friday its on board the plane for Zurick. Then LA and home.
I am ready for home, but it will be sad to finish also.
See you one day in a week or so when the jet lack expires!
Cheers Sue

Today is a good day, I am in my happy place at the sewing machine. My machine is cleaned and oiled, with a new needle and I am ready to go. I plan to get busy finishing the flying geese units for the final border on my Vintage Nine Patch Quilt.

I think I'm also addicted to Flying Geese blocks, they are so cute in the border. Rose Of Thorns measures 22 inches square.
